Hello people, I just wanted to do a quick post to highlight the changes I have made and will be making to my blog.

So, without further ado:

Design

Before, I used the theme Dara with an orange and dark grey palette, and a horrible header:

Now, I use the theme Shoreditch with a red and black palette (which I love), and…I made a new header (which I also love):

Bio widget/About page

I was scrolling through When Words Fly and discovered this post. Naturally, I tried it.

Before, my bio widget read:

Hi, I’m Hannah. I am a socially awkward 13 year from New Zealand. I love reading, writing (obviously), playing guitar and netball. Please show my blog some love (it definitely needs it).

Uhhhhhh, it sounds so cringey and self promoting.

So I changed it, following Abby’s advice for a good bio. It is now:

Hey, I’m Hannah, a self proclaimed word slinger, earnest bookworm and the ‘wordsmith’ behind this blog. (But mostly I’m just an awkward 13 year old.)

I love to write for you to read and enjoy (which I really hope you do!).

You can find me playing guitar, being REALLY loud or telling horrible jokes.

I still kept components from my old bio, but I completely changed most of it, and I love it!

I also made an about page by following this post. I love it so much more than my old one (a draft page that I never published on my blog).

My old one:

Hey,

I am a socially awkward 13 year old from New Zealand.

As you can infer I do everything DIY, speak fully in slang and never wear shoes.

Well, if you inferred that then you are wrong. What stereotypical traits of kiwis, we don’t all do that.

In reality, I am a dog person with an obsession of books (especially Harry Potter).

I DO live on a farm, but I don’t really spend hours on it everyday. Sorry

Okay, I know that didn’t really tell you anything about me, so I hope this will do:

My name is Hannah Kerry Maria Ellwood. I turned 13 on Friday 13th April 2018. I live on a sheep and beef farm in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

I love reading, writing (obviously), guitar and photography, oh, and I play netball.

I hope enjoy reading my blog as much as I do writing it.

Aaaaannd my new one:

Hey, I’m Hannah and I kinda own this blog (but I don’t pay for it, so technically WordPress owns it). I am an awkward 13 year old from New Zealand.

I found my love for writing in 2015, and made my first blog in 2017. Sadly, that blog was a flop so I started up this one: Simplistic Internet Spasm. The name was inspired by a small glitch that I found on my friend’s blog.

This is my little corner of the internet, I hope you enjoy your stay as I sing and dance (very badly) through it while you watch.

Posting days

I am not going to be just posting randomly anymore (yay?), I am going to post on Sundays and Wednesdays (New Zealand) and Fridays will be my day to post First Lines Fridays, tags and short update posts. I will post this today and start the schedule on Friday. I’ll see if that schedule works for me and then decide if I want to carry it on or change it. So stayed tuned.

Blog signoff

Just about every blog I have seen has some sort of signoff at the bottom of their posts, and I was missing out on the action. I mostly signoff my post with

And that’s really boring and unoriginal. So I made a signoff graphic/picture/whatever, but you will have to wait till the end of this post to see it.

Collabs

I’ve had my blog for almost a month now and I kinda think/hope I have enough experience to do collabs without entirely ruining the other blog. Therefore, my blog is open to collabs and guest posts and stuff along those lines. I actually am really excited by the prospect of collabs so SOMEONE do something with me at least to fulfil my enthusiasm.
